Background

Blindsbypost had previously hired a marketing consultant to set up activity in Google, but could only take the results so far. We were hired to give a fresh perspective, new strategy and dedicated expertise to their Google Ads.
The relationship started back in Feb 2018 and we have become a part of the furniture blinds. We now work with Blindsbypost on all areas of their marketing: pay-per-click advertising, paid social, SEO, affiliates and general marketing support.

Approach

To create a marketing strategy that generated powerful results, we needed to get under the skin of what Blindsbypost wanted to achieve. This meant getting to grips with their business priorities, products and categories priorities, and what sets the business apart from competitors.

Marketing activity was then set up and optimised to achieve their business goals.

New marketing channels, including affiliate marketing, were brought in when the time was right to take the growth to the next level. Spend has constantly been increased and scaled overtime to help the business continue to grow. Data analysis continues to underpin decisions on where to increase (and reduce) spend for efficiency and increased revenue.

As with any business, there have been challenges on the way:

Branding challenges

When we started working with Blindsbypost their assets were a little dated and the company lacked a brand identity, making it tricky to perform against competitors. We helped to bring in an agency we knew well to create a full brand identity and a new look that helped set them apart. Blindsbypost is now easily recognisable and much more competitive in the space.

Growth challenges

The lockdowns of 2020 led to a period of rapid growth for the company. This brought two key business challenges:
1 – Optimising the business to ensure it was busy in the right places
2 – Ensuring growth was sustained beyond the lockdown period

We met these challenges by reviewing data weekly on category performance, then aligning marketing spend to the best areas, and where there was factory capacity. A strategic approach to marketing spend was, and still is, key to success. Lockdown growth has sustained & continues to move upwards.
